Background of Fulgazi Upazila

Fulgazi Upazila is a sub-district (in Bengali upazila means a sub-district, a unique geographical and administrative unit of the state) of Feni district. It consists of six unions (small geographical administrative units) namely 1. Fulgazi Union, 2. Munshirhaat Union, 3. Darbarpur Union, 4. Anandapur Union, 5. Amzadhaat Union, 6. GM Haat Union. The government declared Fulgazi as an individual geographical administrative unit as Upazila vide the gazette notification of 02.06.2002 bearing memo no.upz-2/1C-3/2002/201. Previously, Fulgazi upazila was under the administrative unit of Porshuram Upazila. The upazila is bordered by Parshuram upazila to the North, Feni Sadar Upazila to the South,  Tripura of India to the East and Tripura state border of India to the West. The soil of this upazila has given birth to many renowned political leaders, journalists and bureaucrats of the country.
